She worked with professor Pier Luigi Luisi from University Roma Tre and Jack Szostak from Harvard University. She studied RNA biophysics, small peptide catalysis and liposome dynamics, in an effort to build a chemical system capable of Darwinian evolution.

She joined the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) in 2002 as a postdoctoral fellow and subsequently became a Research Assistant Professor two years later, and Associate Professor in 2013.
M.D. Dr. Perossa completed his Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish followed by a Master’s of Arts in Comparative Literature and Culture from Texas A&M University before completing his Medical Degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Following graduation from Poznan, Dr. Perossa worked briefly in Malta as a junior physician at which point he returned to the US to complete his General Adult Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in June of 2019.
