ESPPA 2026 Symposium: Changing the Narrative on Suicide — Safer Transitions
The European Suicidology, Prevention & Postvention Association (ESPPA) is holding its first symposium on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 13:00–18:00 CET, at Wrocław University of Science and Technology in Wrocław, Poland, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Minnesota Polish Medical Society (MPMS).
Held during World Suicide Prevention Month, the symposium focuses on safer transitions of care, patient safety, and continuity of support after discharge — bringing together clinicians, researchers, educators, hospital representatives, and pharmaceutical industry partners for an applied discussion on how to close the gaps that put patients at risk during and after care transitions.
Program highlights include:
A workshop on using serious games to build safety-planning skills, drawn from the EU-co-funded ERE Project
France: the VigilanS system for post-attempt suicide prevention, presented by Prof. Sofian Berrouiguet (University of Brest)
