One of the places to visit Off the Beaten Path is Roosevelt Street in Wroclaw and its "Colorful courtyards."
In 2014, three local artists, Mariusz Mikołajek, Witold Liszkowski, and Jan Mikołajek came up with the idea to transform the space of the western courtyard at Roosevelt Street in Wroclaw through unique art. The murals were a community creation made by the local residents, in collaboration and support of professional artists and students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw.
There is a piece of the Garden of Eden - with prehistoric creatures, tropical animals, and surrealistic mythical features. There is an animal corner that features the residents' pets. Other highlights of Colorful Courtyards are pictures inspired by the well-known artwork - from cave paintings to Chagall. The courtyard's grey walls now feature the works of Chagall, van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and Wyspiański.
The work is 250 meters long and covers about 1200 square meters of otherwise rather dull buildings.
