Kalejdoskop Polski Minnesota has been alive with activity, continuing to spotlight the rich tapestry of Polish-American experiences through exhibitions, events, and community engagement. Our team has been busy curating new stories, launching public exhibitions, and creating opportunities for cultural reflection and dialogue.
We are thrilled to announce that Lives in Transition is now on display at the See18 Gallery in Terminal C of Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) from May 1 through August 31, 2025. This moving exhibit features personal stories of immigrants who arrived in the United States during the Cold War era, offering a rare glimpse into lives shaped by courage, upheaval, and hope. https://www.artworkarchive.com/profile/arts-at-msp/artwork/kalejdoskop-lives-in-transition
David Sherman (www.davidshermanphoto.com)seasoned Minneapolis based photographer captured the essence of these compelling narratives through his lens.
This installation continues our successful collaboration with MSP, following two prior exhibits in the same space: An Interrupted Childhood (September–December 2024), which captured the wartime experiences of children, and Faces of Solidarity (January–April 2025), a compelling tribute to the spirit of Polish civic resistance and unity.
With over 34.7 million travelers passing through MSP in 2023—and projections pointing toward a return to the pre-pandemic high of 39.5 million—these exhibitions offer an extraordinary platform. They bring our community’s stories to a global audience, elevating awareness of Polish history, migration, and identity in a setting that connects people from around the world.
As part of MSP’s rotating public arts program, our participation underscores a shared commitment to cultural exchange and storytelling. We’re honored to contribute to Minnesota’s dynamic arts scene and to help shape a broader understanding of the immigrant experience through powerful visual narratives.
We invite you to visit Lives in Transition at MSP this summer, explore the exhibitions in our virtual galleries online, https://artspaces.kunstmatrix.com/en/exhibition/14109556/lives-transition-journeys-behind-iron-curtain and stay tuned for upcoming projects that continue to amplify the voices of Polish Minnesotans. To learn more, join our mailing list and follow us on social media—or better yet, come see the story for yourself.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
